KIT REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL WEEKENDS

  • Camping and cooking kit for people who are camping

  • Food for two breakfasts, Friday night dinner and for two packed lunches in the hills plus plenty of snacks

  • At least 1 litre of water. There can be the opportunity to refill your bottle at streams at your own risk or its worth taking more.

  • Mobile phone for emergencies (note – no phone signal in valley) and photos

  • Notebook and pencil for notes

  • Personal medication and first aid kit

  • Hat and gloves

  • Sunglasses and sunhat

  • Map of the central Lakes. This can be Harveys Lake District Mountain Map or Ordnance Survey OL4 and OL6

  • Compass with a baseplate. Such as a Silva Expedition Type 4.

 

ADDITIONAL KIT FOR WALKING WEEKENDS

  • Warm walking clothes for the weekend. Don’t bring cotton t-shirts or jeans

  • Emergency warm layer e.g. primaloft jacket

  • Waterproof jacket with hood and trousers

  • Walking boots with ankle support and good grip

  • Rucksack to carry everything you need for the day

 

ADDITIONAL KIT FOR RUNNING WEEKENDS

  • Running clothes for weekend. Remember to bring many layers as the temperature will be colder on the summits

  • Emergency layers

  • Waterproof jacket with hood and trousers

  • Trail or fell shoes. Inov-8 have a good range of fell shoes such as Mudclaws. More ‘cross’ shoes such as Salomon Speedcross should also be fine. The main thing you need is good grip. Please contact us if you are concerned whether your trainers will be suitable.

  • Rucksack is enough for you day kit, whilst attaching snugly to you (with waist and chest strap). This can be running specific or a general walking one.
